Now that the European Parliament has approved the Carbon Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), carbon accounting is another step closer to becoming an unavoidable part of daily business life. By 2025, over 50,000 companies in Europe will need to start reporting on their carbon emissions, including ‘Scope 3 emissions’ which include those caused by outsourced goods transport. This will require a huge amount of carbon data to be incorporated into the existing supply chain data flows.

The BigMile Emission API is a REST API which makes it easy for developers to integrate emission calculation and allocation functions into their own software solutions. BigMile uses common standards to produce trustful and compliant results with different types of input data. It covers all modes of transport and vehicle profiles related to the chosen calculation framework.


As a developer you can request technical documentation for the Emissions API. Once your request has been approved by the asset owner, we will provide you with information on how to connect your applications to our API’s.
